You just opened up the flood gates with this post. I had this building inside of me for weeks now.
i have a T-Mobile MDA which runs Windows Mobile. It is the dumbest smart phone ever assembled. I don't know how much is Windows fault and how much is the MDA's, but i'm blaming windows until i'm proven otherwise.
- After every text message sent, my phone rings or vibrates (depending on what mode i'm in) saying "message sent." I send a message, a few seconds later it vibes "message sent." Why would it tell me every time it sent a message? I know I just sent it, i just pressed send! I sent tons of messages a day and deal with it every time. Vibrate if there's a problem!
I even sent an email asking their support team how to turn the feature off. Guess what? You can't. This annoyingness is built into the firmware. Which leads me to another problem:
- If there's an error message in your text message window, you will not receive any messages until you press OK. Say you send a message and put the phone down. It vibrates of course. If an error pops up, you can only see it from the text screen (which closes after you send the message). Sometimes i wont receive texts all day, go into the text message program to send another message, and see the error from an earlier text i tried to send. I press OK on the error and then like 10 texts come in from hours earlier.
- Its made to use a stylus for everything. Every contact or button is so small, even if there's tons of screen space you could use. When calling, the phone numbers on the screen are so tiny you have to use a fingernail to press the buttons. You'd think that since its a phone, it would at least do its main function easily right? Wrong, WRONG!
if you want to set an alarm, it gives you a tiny ass analog clock with an hour hand and a minute hand that you HAVE to use a stylus to turn, or grow your pinky nail as long as possible just in order to turn the hands. Mind you, the surrounding screen is 70% white space where they could put large, easily assesible numbers.
Top it off, the stylus isn't even comfortable. Its too small to hold like a pencil.
- I drive a prius with bluetooth in it, and you can transfer your phone book to it and choose contacts from the screen. Every phone i've ever had i've been able to send the phone book to the car. I've had a Ericson T616, T636, and these non-smart phones have done it with no problem. It is IMPOSSIBLE to send your entire contact list via bluetooth from this phone. I called their support team about this as well - they said its not possible, and recommended me sending each contact one at a time. 100's of contacts, one at a time. You would think a smart phone would be able to do it easily right?
I could seriously go on and on about it. It's like they didn't think things through when making this phone. I'm on Windows Mobile 5, so I don't know if 6 took any of my suggestions. Either way, you've been warned if you get a Windows Mobile phone, and stay far far away from the MDA.
