they did the same for the other 1s..

they didn't do some gay futuristic shit and it looks all crisp and next-genish.

also looks like they might focus more on story...

maybe i'm more impressed since i don't already have a next gen console
but if they pull that off with no pop-up... jesus

quite a cool way to do a trailer too cause you can slow it down frame by frame and get a look at the vehicles and people and locations and billboards

you can only compare it to saints row and crackdown because they;re the only two other large world games

you can't expect the level of detail you get in a dedicated racing or FPS
prettyness isn't the only measure of good graphics

but some of the buildings, while accurate looking to their real life counterparts, had some real low poly counts. look at the edges and sides of the buildings... its like, they finally figured out anti-aliasing, but thats it.

also, the characters clothing was pretty terrible. the zipper and jacket had no texture mapping... saints row character models were immensely better.

but its still early, and like i said, i dont play GTA for the graphics.

just being next gen and all, i expected a bit more.


edit: saints row went for that cartoony look, while this tries to be more real life... so you can say in that regard it looks more realistic... but the engine itself looked much better in Saints Row.

it very obviously had a lot more going on with effects that made it look better than saints row.

go back and actually play saints row, it's got brighter colors than that trailer, but the poly count is not noticeably higher.

WAY more visual effects in that trailer alone. The filters they are using for this one give it a realer look than Saint's ever even TRIED to achieve.

SR character models is about all they got on it right now and that ain't sayin a WHOLE lot.
