That's conjecture? Starters and stars are leaving, not bottom
players, and that does not all fall on the institution. Ewing
is responsible as well, and it's not a good look for him or
the program.
The lack of communication between him and Mcclung regarding
his future is another Red Flag, and that has nothing to do
with the institution. Either Ewing was clueless, or it was an
attempt to get Mcclung to change his mind, either way it
illustrated a lack of leadership and communication as a coach.
"It was a number of different events that made me feel I
had no choice but to transfer from Georgetown," McClung
told ESPN. "I really wanted to stay, but things
throughout my career made me realize that I couldn't... I'm
looking for a place I can call home. A place I can be a part
of a family and help them succeed."
When you have your own recruits dropping left and right, as
well as other players on the team bolting out the door, that's
more than just an institution thing. Those are red flags in
regards to the Coach not being able to connect with the
players.
