after reading this i had to chuckle a little, it reads like the president is talking. only thing missing is a couple of "huge"s...
i'm not even feeling like debating this back and forth because treating bball like tennis just doesn't work for me.
let me just leave this here: - no player ever did anything just by himself to win in this league. - i know it completely doesn't fit your narrative, but maybe the cavs weren't that bad. and the warriors not that good. doesn't diminish lebron's greatness imo. - also, the eastern conference. - lebron calling himself the goat (something most of all the other all time greats don't do, including MJ btw), obviously wants more rings and is playing on a top contender. what else should the expectations be for him and this team?? - jordan was 40 and came back to the non contending wizards after being retired for the second time. nice try tho.
>and you can see why he said it. He's had a first hand account >of just how great James is - first seeing LeBron drag the Cavs >(without Kyrie and Love) to 6 games w/ the Dubs - then a >front-row seat to the 2017 Ring of all Rings which >necessitated unprecedented stacking of talent just to beat >LeBron. > >Kerr coached the most talented team in NBA history and still >concedes that there's simply nothing like the force of LeBron >James. Only way to take down that Lion is to swarm him with >dozens of hyenas. No single player can match him pound for >pound. > >>I do think that him in LA is almost "Wizards Jordan" >>but I do get a lil geeked watching how geeked Lakers >>announcers are calling his good plays. It just hits that >>nostalgia button. That being said, he still is above so many >>others 17 seasons in. I don't know how he does it. > >It's insane that it's championship or bust in his 17th year. >That's a standard that no other player has been held to - but >it's par for the course for LeBron to be held to the highest >of standards. This ain't Wizards Jordan though - at least not >yet. LeBron is legitimately in the MVP hunt. Jordan was never >even close to that level as a Wizard. > >>2011 will be the darkest mark on his resume, and people will >>have their "3-6" jokes but I've never seen ONE person take >>teams to places they shouldn't more than LeBron has done it. > > >It's definitely the lowest point of his career - but if almost >averaging a triple double in the Finals is the lowest point of >your career - that's pretty damn good. But even if the Heat >had won that 'chip - his detractors would still find a way to >discredit him - i.e. "LeLegacy saved by Wade!" or some >nonsense. > >>It's like if Iverson continued to do that for a decade. >> >>(I still think "Iverson" is the real LeBron antecedent) > >not mad at that. > > >-->
