"John Belein is the best thing to happen to the Cavs"
in quite some time.
The Cavs's W/L record is on par with a team that won 19 last season, but this team is an absolute improvement despite not really changing its personnel this year.
Part of it is the improvement of Tristan Thompson and Collin Sexton (NOPE, that agenda still stands), who has become a markedly improved defender. Another part is having a guard like Darius Garland who is a superior playmaker. Another part is Kevin Love actually playing his game.
But altogether there is an actual system, actual plays, and less of the freelancing that have plagued post-LeBron Cavaliers teams.
I still have them marked for 30 games this season but if this improvement continues on, we could be talking a low seed (which means ATL gonna get that pick, which I'm not so good about).
It's a good feeling.
They should have beat the Sixers last night for as poor as Tobias Harris's shooting was (and the team's shooting in general), and the fact they lead by 5 numerous times late in the 4th. Kevin Love taking the last shot isn't a bad call but I'd rather it have been Sexton. Probably was the backup play.
National media is taking notice too. Probably because of the Belein factor, but it's well deserved. he is a great coach with the right opportunity.
