"Luke Kennard: the next JJ Redick."
Since the Pistons sent away Stanley Johnson for Not Being As Good As Justise Winslow, Kennard's minutes have increased and he has made the most of them.
He's done 15.5 PPG and 3 RPG, is posting a 3.5:1 AST:TO ratio, and is shooting over 50% from 3.
Just like JJ Redick, Kennard, a deadly shooter from #TheBrotherhood with below-average NBA athleticism, has worked his ass off and been unconstrained by a coach (Doc for JJ, Dwane for Luke) who saw how Stan Van Gundy was wasting his potential. (Interesting that both of these intelligent coaches are black, yet Van Gundy's the one whose "basketball mind" has always been praised. 🤔🤔🤔)
Oh, and since the trade that increased Kennard's PT? The Pistons are 8-2.
Don't be surprised when Kennard is out there in the year 2033 scoring 16+ PPG for a playoff team just like Redick is. Dude knows exactly what his role is, plays it to perfection, and can shoot 40% from 3 for the next decade.
