While City got taken to the proverbial tool shed by Liverpool on Wednesday, it's tough to see what exactly United could glean from that game in preparation for tomorrow's derby. Liverpool went at City with the gusto and fury of Thor on cocaine, not letting them breathe during a devastating first 30minutes. United under Mourinho have had some success, possibly more than many expected actually, but attacking bravado was rarely the reason for it. Still, their lineup contains few slouches and a judicious use of players like Martial, Mata or Rashford could result in another surprise. However is that the way Jose will want to go? A Mancunian clash is never anodyne, but dare I assert without any fact-checking whatsoever that none have resulted in a title clinch before.
Earlier the Merseyside derby will happen, though it'll lack a bit in the stakes seen in Manchester, especially as Liverpool are widely expected to want to save their energy for the return leg at City next week.
