"Markelle Fultz and Jayson Tatum: two players forever linked."
Not sure who among you caught the Sixers/Celtics Summer League game, but it was fantastically entertaining.
Fultz had 17 points, two rebounds, an assist, and three impressive blocks in 22 minutes. They seemed to be using him more as the two guard with Larry Drew II as the point guard (lol), so the lack of dimes didn't surprise me-- they clearly told him to go go go.
Tatum had 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists, five steals, and only one turnover in 30 minutes. He also had an impressive posterizing jam and the game-winning basket. Outside of his one early turnover, he looked at ease on the floor. (It also helped that he was playing alongside Jaylen Brown, who also had a monster game.)
Saw lots of agendas on Twitter during the game, after each impressive play each made. "Celtics made the right trade!" "Celtics fucked up!" etc. Clearly everything these dudes do will be compared forever by fans wondering "who won the trade." Remains to be seen if there will be a clear winner, obviously... but if you get a chance to watch yesterday's Summer League game if it replays, it was a lot of fun and a great start to this agenda rivalry. And both sides certainly have a lot to be excited about by these young guys.
