"Spin-off: construct the best possible version of the next "Miami Heat.""

Inspired by Kira's post here: http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=2331416&mesg_id=2331416&page=#2331471

Instructions: take the best THREE players from any one draft post-2003, and put them on the same team. What's the best team you can create?

I'll post the All-Stars of every draft since the Bron draft, or if there are fewer than three All-Stars, I'll post a couple of the next best players to choose from. Try to decide which THREE players would make for the next best Big Three, Miami Heat style.

Kira also had additional thoughts, about the minimum playoff achievements a team should be able to handle based on the caliber of their Big 3. See if you agree here: http://board.okayplayer.com/okp.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=2331416&mesg_id=2331416&page=#2331502

(Sidenote: let's try not to engage the hypothesis that the three best players from the 2003 draft wouldn't include Melo, and let's instead focus on the exercise at hand. Please. Please?)

EACH DRAFT'S BEST:

2004-
Dwight Howard
Devin Harris
Luol Deng
Andre Iguodala
Jameer Nelson

2005-
Deron Williams
Chris Paul
Andrew Bynum
Danny Granger
David Lee
Andrew Bogut**

2006-
LaMarcus Aldridge
Brandon Roy
Rajon Rondo
Paul Millsap

2007-
Kevin Durant
Al Horford
Joakim Noah
Marc Gasol

2008-
Derrick Rose
Russell Westbrook
Kevin Love
Brook Lopez
Roy Hibbert

2009-
Blake Griffin
James Harden
Stephen Curry
DeMar DeRozan
Jrue Holiday

2010-
John Wall
Paul George
DeMarcus Cousins*
Greg Monroe*
Lance Stephenson*

2011-
Kyrie Irving
Jonas Valanciunas*
Kemba Walker*
Klay Thompson*
Kawhi Leonard*
Nikola Vucevic*
Chandler Parsons*

2012-
Anthony Davis
Damian Lillard
Bradley Beal*
Andre Drummond*
Jared Sullinger*

2013-
look, the best Miami Heat team ain't coming from this draft, so

*- not an All-Star
**- not an All-Star, but made an All-NBA Team

May 27th 2014
