Broncos linebacker Von Miller was listed as a potential witness in a death-penalty case related to five murders in the fall of 2012, Denver NBC TV affiliate 9News.com reports. According to court documents issued by the Denver District Attorney's office, prosecutors are prepared to call Miller to testify if needed during the sentencing phase of the trial.
According to 9News.com, Miller's name appears as a "lay witness,"after the standard procedure of listing police and firefighters who arrived on the scene, to a brutal crime committed on October 17, 2012.

While two co-defendants have already plead guilty, prosecutors are pursuing the death penalty for the man they say was responsible, 23-year-old Dexter Lewis. Police believe Lewis stabbed all the victims and then set fire to the inside of the building, burning all of the victims.
