on my side of town..the defending 2012 Los Angeles City Champion Narbonne Gauchos from beautiful Harbor City, CA are coming into this season in a historical fashion..
First time sole defending city champs..
Our preseson rankings got us in a place we've never been..
Maxx Preps has us ranked #2 in the state of California.....and #10 nationally.....which is much higher than the Los Angeles times has us a 12th in the state..but the times is bias against the hard nose city football favoring orange county and private schools who often benefit from a lack of real competition....
Narbonne is lead the year by washington commit Troy williams...coming off an MVP season and a summer that saw him make the final 20 on espn u's elite 11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEYSc4QWY9s
We've got a monster schedule that includes Serra, Long Beach Poly and a nationally televised ESPNU match up against Lakewood....
if we can make it to through to another city title without a loss, we're almost a lock to get an invitation to a State Championship game....which would be monumental as the state title games usually ignore La city teams.
