my dad and brother are scratch golfers, i didnt play with them that often growing up but lately I got the bug. went from breaking 90 to breaking 80 to shooting par but have yet to finish under par.
for you, i personally recommend just playing as often as you can. im not really a range guy. i think you get better playing the course. ive also never believed in paying for lessons, but easy for me to say when my dad and brother were there to always point out mistakes i was making. my buddy paid for hundreds of dollars of lessons and he got *worse*. i think a lesson is good for them to give you few pointers on your swing but the moment they have you doing shit like holding a golf glove inside your armpit as you swing (real thing) - it may just be for show.
totally stopped golfing this year though. only played 3 rounds. i dont have the major itch to go play every weekend like I used to. hopefully i play more next year though.
and I did not watch "the match", Bryson and Brooks are two of the most annoying players on tour.
