But like you are saying, they are ultra-masculine and have fierce, unyielding personalities that, for better or worse, are required to succeed or even have a chance of sticking at that level.
Stars are marketed as gifted people who are just like you. But they're really not. They are given social advantages in life that most people deeply desire to have. I don't think athletes are spoiled, at least not more than millionaires are.
But there's a segment of people that see athletes screaming at others as an image that they wouldn't want their kids to model. I can respect that, but I think the farther we as a society can remove celebrities and athletes as role models, the better off we'd all be.
