Stoops was on a roll that year (2014):
- Oklahoma LB Frank Shannon was suspended the season after the school conducted a sexual assault investigation against him
- Oklahoma accepted the transfer of WR Dorial Green-Beckham, who was kicked out of Missouri for knocking his girlfriend down a flight of stairs and dragging her outside by her neck (no charges filed)
- Oklahoma signed WR Dede Westbrook, who was arrested twice for domestic violence (no charges filed)
