that got mostly a shoulder shrug just a week or two after the original joel ward story. boy, it sure is fun to pick on boston for being what's wrong with the northeast. just don't point out the racism of anywhere else, they don't like it. twitter is a racial utopia everywhere but boston.
2) the racists are obviously indefensible, but as i mentioned two years ago, the editors of these lists do a pretty poor job and that's irresponsible of them. the previous joel ward list included people who were clearly fans of other teams (which the editor would've known had they clicked on the accounts) as well as a black guy who was celebrating ward's goal (which the editor would've known had they looked at his picture). all of which got chalked up to "bruins fan racism". this year one of the lists included a few people saying they were disgusted by everything.
look, you can criticize boston all you want when something like this goes down. we deserve it. just don't be lazy about it, don't turn a blind eye when it happens somewhere else, and don't act like twitter isn't the main enemy here.
