It may have affected the margin of your lead in the conference, but it did not affect the lead itself. Even with an extra theoretical two losses to tougher opponents, you'd have still won the ACC.
This post was made before Cuse's collapse and before Duke's recent two-game slump, btw. Cuse and Duke still could've made arguments at the time, many of which had to do with schedule. A lot has changed since its posting... except for UVA. They keep winning.
