for the first and only time EVER, thanksgiving and hanukkah overlap. we're combining the two for some awesome alternate recipes and celebrations.
Here's the awkward part.
typically, holidays have always been done with/by my dad's side of the family, because they're the ones who still live in NYC, with the exception of my one cousin on the other side and her husband/kids, who live in Harrison.
So I'm inviting my dad's side of the family, and my cousin and her family from my mom's side.
Plus, I'm inviting my mom....... and her boyfriend.
My parents split up 4 years ago, and my dad's side has seen her since then, and has invited her to family events (my dad lives in Arizona, so he wouldn't be there), but the invite has always just been to her (she doesn't talk about the BF in front of them, so they may not even know about him, but he obviously wouldn't have been invited anyway).
The two of them live together now, so I can't just not invite him. I have absolutely no idea how this is going to play out.
but on the other hand, sweet potato latkes and a turkey brined in manischewitz..... *Jews you*

Proceed with caution. I am overtly racist.
