see it's super funny to me that they think you are oh so tough
you walk around like you're still this diamond in the rough
but to those of us that know the real you, you're simply baby girl
you live and die for your children and your sister is your whole world
when it's time to command the stage you're this....sexual fiend
but soon as you make it home it's time to be mommie, cook, and clean
you give the world this attitude that vicious and oh so mean
when in reality you're this soft spoken, easily hurt, beautiful black queen
real talk you ain't never been in no freakin menage
the freakiest place you ever got down was in your own garage
ain't no chics face ever dipped in your sugar bowl
but i guess that's that type of talk that gets records sold
you talk about being a semen swallower and a cum seeker
i can't front on you with that one...i've seen you turn the quietest man into a shrieker
you write the deepest pieces that bring tears to my eyes
but you only spit pieces that bring wetness between thighs
or make men's nature rise
often makes me wonder why
you would chose to imply
that your are a runna of sorts
constantly getting angry retorts
making people think you would fall short
in intellectual conversation
if they only knew that your level of education
would exceed their highest expectation
i've heard people speak of you as nothing more than a hoodrat
even heard a few people in the crowd say yeah...i could hit that
still you say nothing to show them otherwise
i'm just worried that this could lead to your poetic demise
you say you simply give the people what that want
you don't care what they think and are extra nonchalant
you told me once that you spit that way because even whores need a voice
and that they don't ever have to know the real you, unless it's by your own choice
we sat down once and had a long talk about the woman they think you are
after i sat and watched dozens of eyes follow you around the bar
i saw you make everyone feel special and important
saw them watch you like you were nothing short of heaven-sent

and you changed up 100%
and against my advice and consent

someone that is totally beneath you

they don't know half of the things that you've been through
or that their foot could never fit into your shoe
still they try to stick to you like glue
but they're so phony, so transparent, so freakin see through
if you sneezed these same people, wouldn't even bother to bless you
so i begged you to bid them adieu
you shooed me away and said you knew what you were getting into
and that'd you been around the block more than a time or two
you give them what they want and sometimes even what they need
you may not do it conventionally but you always plant a seed
and that you will continue to do what some may call mislead
with the stories that make you succeed
in showing the world that writers come in all types of breeds
and to never sleep on or bite the hand that feeds
your mental or lyrical hunger
because eventually they'll wish they were
among those that took the time find out the difference between tennille and ms yea
is honestly as big as the difference between night and day
with that i finally understood and had nothing more to say
because it was then that i saw that they
may judge your for the woman your poems portray
but that you could care less and wouldn't have it any other way
