Literally, lyrically is the only form of literacy
That linguistically sparks a light within my life
Living through words and inhaling the verbs
Is what stimulates my lungs to breathe deeply
Oxygenating my blood with similies and metaphors that
Love to dilate my veins like the hurricaines that open doors
Conjunctions bridge the gap between fragment and phrase
Creating a marriage of ideas that initiate different ways
Of expression.
A connection--of words and spirit which simultaneously shapes the
shifting future
Giving hope to those that appreciate the stringing together of simple
letters
To form simple words
Which congregate to form simple sentences
That elicit complex feelings in a variety of different dimensions
You can write to show love
You can write to display sorrow
You can manipulate the same words used in an argument to demonstrate
hope for tomorrow
Words can declare a war against nations
Or diffuse an escalating eruption of emotions causing a condensation
To form a brain storm
Ideas flowing like water
Filling the depths of the paper like a flood surrounds vegetation
Preserving the roots like I was Black Thought
Strengthening the core of what makes us the reason why they fought
They being our parents, and fought being the fight they engage in daily
for our sake
The education they strive for us to get so we can acquire words to make
The world a better place.
Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me?
That is foolishness because one derrogatory term can mean the
difference
between
Succeeding in life and being in prison for fighting racism
Racing through life without words is like being a wingless bird
You wont be prepared to soar above the clouds
While people like me indulge in the consonant components mixing with
vowels
To form a luscious compilation of verbal extacy
Exciting brain cells that become absolutely delightful
When encountering vernacular that is insightful
Epiphanies leading to new found destinies...
All from words that someone took the time to admire.
