The grey awaits it's chance to shine
for its first big break

With disposable film
To catch the stars right after the show
Brown floors in the studio
Wood so smooth
I can be the naked me, bare feet
No splinters in souls
No shoes
The raindrops start the clap
the street is showered with applause
To a jazz soundtrack
Everybody looking out their windows
Giving a standing ovation
Crack the screen to catch the mist
Not a dry eye in the house
As we watch the blades and droplets kiss
