we speak in tongues at times
like the people at Babel
all at once the tears fall
the anger, the rage even resentments
we pause just for a moment
in reflection there seems to be solace
still the crying may stop
but the joy is lost
there is just to much noise in silence
when does the pain cease you ask
how do we keep going?
questions without an answer
can bring hope at midnight
as we turn from one another seeking relief
no one wants to blame or be blamed really
we just want to let go without trembling
we breathe slowly tonight cause someone understands
someone has felt the same pain and looked into our eyes
no more blind faith we see clearly
not even the grave can rob us of this
so a simple prayer just might find us no longer in want
as we pass the same message to another...
