Maybe we didn’t try hard enough
To busy listening to them and we forgot about us
Tellin us to find mercy push past and move on
Now our conversations have awkward conditions
You accidently speak her name
And we both ignore it but deep down feel shame
Some kind of cowards not trying to face it
I know I said I could take it
but everytime I look at you its her I see
Sometimes you feel somehow I blame you and other times I can see you blame me
We pretended we could get past this
But Ive been numb since I saw you give her the last kiss
We go from laughter to all out fits
All the “what if’s” play games with our minds
And the “we shoulda, coulda’s” tear at our soul all at the same time
People find solice in memories
And for us they are torture and misery
This time last year we were at her grave
And now a year later we are in this state
Nothing can ever be the same
Not since that nite the angel of death came
Music doesn’t even have the same rhythm without her heartbeat
I wish I could be deaf to the world if it meant I could for one last time hear the pitter patter of her feet
We tried but it was all too much and all the pieces to shattered to pick up
