I think with RDJ his issues happened over 10 years ago and he already served his time in "movie jail." And forgive me if I'm wrong, but Downey's issues were with addition and didn't involve physical violence towards anyone else.

Like you said about Majors, there is the video and audio footage of his incidents with his ex. While I'm a proponent of the focus on domestic and sexual violence post #meToo, that increased scrutiny makes it harder to justify keeping him on such a high-profile production.

I think Majors will have to spend a couple more years in movie jail before his profile starts to rise again.
