I.E, that walk. Just the damn walk is like 24% of the character, because it embodies all the confidence and swagger that T'Challa just oozes.
There's a certain, effortless, relaxed "cool" to the character, not an overt cool like MBJ brings to Killmonger.
His facial expressions, mannerisms, basically everything he does when he isn't talking, is what made T'Challa such a great- and commanding- on screen presence.
There's a reason he felt like an equal presence to RDJ and Chris Evans and their portrayals of IM and Cap, respectively. And it's not the Black Panther character, which is undoubtedly on par.
He brought a natural charisma to the table that fit right in.
I really don't know that a new actor could pull *all* that off, on a sequel, under the weight of Chadwick's death and the scrutinizing eyes that would be watching.
If anything, that's a setup for failure for whoever got the role. But maybe not, and maybe someone else could have added that mountain of qualities to the role and we wouldn't miss a beat. But I doubt it.
I think you're dead on in your assesment that bringing in a new T'Challa down the line, through the multiverse, makes much more sense if they want to bring T'Challa back into the MCU.
With the F4- not to mention Franklin's OP ass- on their way, there are organic possibilities to make that happen in a way, and at a time, that allows everyone to mourn the loss of Chadwick *and* T'Challa, give Shuri time to shine, and allow for the new actor to own the role free of that weight.
