i thought they did a good job with layering the characters and exploring why they did what they did. normal, dysfunctional assed family that happened to have super powers and a controlling, moralistic dad who set an impossibly high standard.

they tried the marvel (disney+ ) slow-burn character development approach with characters we never heard of before. i thought it worked well across an 8 ep series.
