"Can we explore The Marvel Effect?"

It's as if the studio is actually living out that whole concept from Batman Begins / Captain America: Civil War where the presence of exceptional good shit both counters and helps perpetuate the exceptional bad shit.

Super hero movies seemed to be dying out by the time Iron Man hit. Marvel helped keep the party going. You could make a case that they damn near kept the party going single-handed, save for Nolan.

Certainly Snyder doesn't get a shot at a shared universe if not for Marvel.

On the other hand, though, I have to wonder if stuff like Man of Steel and the X-men movies would not seem so bad if Marvel weren't out here shaming the shit outta everybody.

It's like Marvel simultaneously creates and solves the problem.

Am I going nowhere with this?
