So apparently this Mechner guy made a game called Prince of Persia that was huge. I knew about the movie & comic but had no idea it started as a game. Biig deal, that's not a big source of attraction for me.
But this book was on First Second, which is usually a pretty reliable indicator, and it's also about Templars. I wrote my jr. history thesis on Templars and get a kick out of getting mad at all the bogus speculative fiction (some of which the authors attempt to pass as history) about them. So this comic was a no-brainer.
But in the end, while his use of history is solid, it's an old-fashioned heist story, replete with dive bars, fallen priests, treasure, and a beautiful woman. And who doesn't love a good heist story?
