Surprise #1 in its second week, besting 5 Year Engagement.
Per Sista Toldja herself:
"I’m still on vacation but can’t ignore four new low-cost movies opening in wide release and performing worse than expected. Universal’s comedy The Five–Year Engagement (2,936 theaters) from Judd Apatow’s banner is falling victim this weekend to both Sony/Screen Gems holdover Think Like A Man (2,014 theaters) and Warner Bros’ The Lucky One (3,175 theaters). Think like A Man will be #1 and looks to gross between $5M-$6M today and between $16.5M-$18M for the weekend. The Lucky One and The Five-Year Engagement look close for #2 with a Friday estimate of $4M and a $11M-$12M weekend. Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games (3,572 theaters) hangs in for #4 with around $3M-$3.5M today and an $11M weekend as it creeps towards $375M domestic cume. Sony’s Pirates! Band Of Misfits (3,358 theaters) should come in #5 between $2.5M-$3M today with a weekend around $10M. Lionsgate’s Safe (2,266 theaters) and Relativity’s acquisition of Intrepid Pictures’ The Raven (2,203 theaters) won’t do $10M this weekend. Refined numbers, full analysis later tonight."
