She gave a great understated performance but this film desperately needed someone to add some life and charisma to the film. It needed a big personality, not an actress.
This is the kind of film that critics eat up because of the soundtrack/cinematography/and understated nature. They'll gladly overlook that the story itself is lousy, the characters thin, and the relationships are completely hollow (and honestly, a little creepy). On the bright side, it was better than Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist.
