It wasn't real life at all.
The acting was very hit and miss. From Terrance Howard doing real good at finding emotional depth in his character, to Sandra Bullock doing her best soap opera actress impression.
The plot, was hokey, as far as how everybody was linked, but I can't call it a flaw because thats part of the premise of the movie.
However, the script...ugh. Before each each racist act the characters had to explain, in detail, why they were doing it. Your never going to hear an old lady why she clutched her purse in an elevator, why those hoods targeted the white chick in high heels, and why the cop pulled over the car and roughhoused the driver..but in crash you would. It just seemed forced, and imho speaks down to the audience like they wouldn't get it.
