That wasn't a film about music school - that's a film about an abusive relationship. And that's not "jazz drumming" either. That's a film where people can do BIG ACTING and it seems intense, but ultimately has no substance.
To each his own, but the movie was overblown and over popular - IMHO.
Seriously, have fun watching the movies and just skip the ones you don't like - it's like a book - there's a point where I can stop reading a book if it's going nowhere.
