And the things everyone complains about are true:

)ADs in the theater. Pre-movie entertainment. I'll take silent slides - but they force you to watch a shitty imitation of Extra! dealing exclusively with ads - and the sound is pretty loud.

)Endless trailers - They literally show 15 minutes of trailers before some movies. (Some theaters don't - but usually they cost more.)

)People. People are way more annoying in movies than they used to be .

)Concession prices are actually out of control - I used to find it funny that people thought a soda cost too much at $3.00 - but now the larges are $7.50 and I'm one of those people.

)Poorly run theaters - Many many times the sound and/or picture are bad in some way.

)Serving food inside of the theaters - I don't like the smell of cold grease - or the sound of people loudly chewing. Popcorn was bad enough - someone slow masticating chicken is way grosser.

)Sound mixes are getting MORE AND MORE lame. the combination of silence (started around T2 time frame) and the loud WHOMP! (started at ID4) and the Doppler staccato metal noises (started Star Wars Phantom Menace) is boring.

)Visual effects are so derivative - how many movies/trailers have a city with folded topology now? And all of it lit by a teal/orange sun. (How does Superman even have powers in this movie??)

All that being said I still see 4-10 movies a year in the theater.
