I thought the last episodes came together because it was about their relationships and working towards their goal. Joe just needed to be a renegade guy from out of nowhere who would do whatever it took to get what he wants (even the husband.) I mean, he makes his big climatic gesture and burns the truck... and then we cut to the future as if nothing had happened.
I enjoyed it and appreciated that they flipped the nagging wife cliche and made Gordon's girl be in the right and saving the day. I probably wouldn't recommend it and not sure I'd tune in to a second season but it was good enough for summer viewing.
