Tarantino just had a better gimmick than him, and was never exposed as early as Kev Smith was
Both are famous for movies I can't get anyone to explain why are good (Clerks and Pulp Fiction)
Problem with Kev is that his only thing was humor. When he stopped being funny, he lost relevance immediately
QT just colonized "action" and "revenge" which have far less binary response codes than humor. Easier to rationalize liking a dumb QT movie than a dumb Kev movie.
Both would be better as critics than as creators because both of their ideas suck
