especially the last handful of episodes.

Season 3 hasn't been nearly as strong as the first two. There have been a couple of decent eps here and there and Ted really seems to be coming into his own, but it's not laugh out loud funny like it used to be. Maybe when the writer's strike is resolved, we'll get some more quality episodes.
