And tied to the point of the post about what has happened
to the culture

Somewhere along the way we started to equate being
ignorant/crime/etc with more "street"...and that was
the beginning of the end.

There are few rappers more "street" and "authentic" than
Mos Def.

EARLY Hip-Hop understood that.

It got lost somewhere, and its a shame.
