Yeah I liked Ohio Players, Gap Band, some Cameo, and all non-popular funk but when I was a kid all my relatives and my friends parents were listening to Parliament, Funkadelic, & Zapp cause it were the forerunners of the funk sound but I got tired of that shit real quick, so when it got old I was glad it went.

When kats sampling it like EPMD, etc. it was okay cause they gave it a fresh facelift to my ears but it wasn't overdone like Dre did it, and that's when everyone from the west was jumping the bandwagon to the point I just was hating on EVERY rapper from the west, east, & south that had even a tid bit of funk in their sound cause they all were trying to sample or even get musicians to play the funk sound.

To this day I can't listen to any George Clinton, Booty Collins, Zapp/Roger music at all, it just gives me a headache when I hear it.

I will say when Jermaine Dupri did Kris Kross' 2nd album "Da Bomb", he did his best imitation of Dre's "Chronic" sound and to me the beats were kind of aight but only on that album, the stuff he did for the Brat first album I wasn't feeling though.
