"New Music From Ms. Lauryn Hill Coming Next Summer" Wed Jun-26-19 11:08 AM by TurkeylegJenkins
Long-time Fugees and Lauryn Hill devotees have been waiting for 20 years to hear new music from the enigmatic Ms. Hill, but during a Q&A in promotion of his new book, Ruffhouse Records co-founder Chris Schwartz--a close friend of Ms. Hill's--confirmed Monday night at New York's famed Strand Bookstore that she has not one but two projects presently in the works.
The first, a reimagined version of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, is "just about all done except for a couple of tracks," Schwartz said. The second project, Schwartz said, is "a documentary film and a new album. A new LP."
When asked when these projects were likely to actually see release, he said "probably by this time next year," meaning Summer 2020.
I know that there have been a lot of rumors over the years about new MLH projects, but this is probably the closest we've come to a real announcement. Chris Schwartz would not have gone on the record like this if it was just another horseshit rumor.
