He’s a producer. He’s got maybe 7-8 LPs under his belt?
This might be the worst one. He’s got:
Big Ghost x Griselda (Conway & WSG) - Griselda Ghost (very early Griselda stuff, very good) Big Ghost x Vic Spencer - The Ghost of Living Big Ghost x Hus Kingpin - Cocaine Beach (my favorite) Big Ghost x CRIMEAPPLE - Aguardiente (my 2nd favorite) Big Ghost x Ankhlejohn - Van Ghost (this almost sounds like some east coast Schoolboy Q shit) Big Ghost x D Brash - Chicaghost Big Ghost x 38 Spesh - A Bullet for Every Heathen (38 Spesh is crazy)
Big Ghost x Jay-Z - Black Album Reimagining
I’ve had a convo or two with Big Ghost, he really fuxks with that first Rza run. He said he wants to compete with that run of solos, otherwise why are you doing it? I’ll give him this much... each album has its own sound, like the Wu solos. He brings a distinct soundscape to each artist.
Cocaine Beach is more laid back, ocean breeze through the open sliding condo door, , early morning diner run - chicks stashing new straws in their purse. Don’t get it twisted though, drums still hard as fuck.
Aguardiente has more sense of urgency to it, like time is running out. If we gonna win, it’s gonna be now! The world feels more closed in and claustrophobic. Again, BANGING drums.
I really fuxk with what Big Ghost is doing. So can only imagine my excitement for his work with Ghostface. I thought wow - we might get a real gem late in Ghosttface’s career. Unfortunately, probably were never in same room. Big Ghost probably didn’t even get to explain his vision to Ironman.
I’m hoping he works with planet Asia, elcamino or willie the kid.
