i just had this discussion with my friend annie last week. she's trying to tell me that j. cole is so good. i just told her when he can come with a consistent album then we'll talk. until then i just feel that j. cole has nothing that stands out about him. he doesn't have a distinctive voice, his flow doesn't stand out either, his choice of music is mostly boring so the production can't save him, and nothing grabs me about his lyrics. in fact every damn song i can expect at least one (and that's being nice) terrible line such as "I let you feel like you the shit, but boy you can't out-fart me." dude is the epitome of ho-hum and mediocre to me.
