yeah, the downloading era has made this sort of out-of-date, yet...

I remember reading the Rolling Stone album guide and being sparked by the rave 5 star reviews of The Stooges "Fun House" and the Mahavishnu Orchestra's "Birds of fire".

I was like: "I got to go down to J&R music world and buy those 2 albums on tape and I'll be OVERWHELMED!!!!!!"

yep, bought both on tape at the same time (early 90's) wasn't blown away by either, but........I was so sure (due to the reviews) I was going to be in another zone getting those 2 tapes at the same time and listening to them back to back.



Any of y'all were sure getting 2 or 3 albums/tapes/Cd's at the same time and then listening to them back to back was going to result in musical heaven?
