I'm of the fuck it you gotta keep making music if you a musician camp. But I've seen the way some of these artists from the 90's were really really really really really brainwashed and broken. I think perhaps the most prolific of them were able to pull through, but many simply weren't prepared to deal with it, be it mentally, financially etc.

Using Lauryn specifically as the example, you gotta remember pretty much everyone she trusted fucked her over. EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. From Clef, to the folk that helped out with Mis-Education, fucked her over musically and with the business side of it. And those were supposed to be her peoples. You gotta imagine how she was getting fucked by the tag alongs and the higher ups. Then she gets fucked by Rohan, first literally then figuratively. It's easy to see how the only ones she feels she can trust are the ones she brought into the world. And without being able to risk it all for the music, music just don't come.
