One thing is that so much of the stuff that plays with noise comes off as so dark and oppressive, like the next evolution of industrial music, which I'm just not in the mood for very often. That's why I tend to check for stuff like Black Dice and Eric Copeland, because it brings the noise and mess without sounding like a soundtrack to a bludgeoning. Well it could still soundtrack a bludgeoning, but it would be by pixelated cartoon rabbits.
