i mean when he talkin about lyric writers who are considered almost poets like dylan, waits, cohen, cave.

i aint talkin bout pop song writing. obv stevie marv an them got their weight up in that area.

but besides a cat like gil scott i cant really think of many soul artist with complex, dense lyrics. that shit just dont really translate to soul.
