Neil Horan Love's "You Are Something" https://youtu.be/0m7Awy2-Otc REASON: This is specific, Horan's new single is called "Put A Little Love On Me". This weeks marks the 50th anniversary of one of my all time favorite albums, Love's OUT HERE, which features the song "Doggone", the 12 minute song with one of my all time favorite drum solos and what I have called "my breakbeat" since I was 11 or 12. I wanted to pick at least one song that honors the album and it has an appropriate lyric:
"you are something to me but just what it is I don't know but you do something to me you're driving me straight through the floor even if it should snow still I want you to know love love, come on, come on and love"
Also, I've said said Prince had to have been influenced by this song when he did the sped-up guitar solo in the 12" version of "Hello".
So "You Are Something" is a nod to you in honor of Prince and for me in honor of one of my all time favorite albums and for a guitar solo (by Love member Jay Donnellan, Arthur Lee says "OH! JAY. COME ON COME ON AND PLAY") that is heard at double speed.
