going to studios with my dad, who was a Jazz drummer, and being in sessions with Ndugu and George Duke. Even as a damn 3 year old, I can see how much influence musicians got from each other, and how much talent was there in comparison to a lot of the Rap sessions I go to now.

And I think it's the fact that a lot of the factors that made music great in the 60's-80's means nothing anymore. Harmonies, chord changes, bridges, breakdowns, clarity, etc etc. Now, it feels like you only need a damn 808 to dance to, and if there is no 808, none of those other elements matter.
