The beegees didn't find their identity until they incorporated dance music into their sound.

And to this day....I don't think you can compare their combination of disco rhythms and pop composition with any other act. Perhaps EWF or Commodores could be described in a similar way....but those three bands are definitely independant of each other in style and sound. And EWF and Commodores were more versatile than the Beegees. But the beegees knew what they could do well and always stayed true to the songwriting aspect.

'More than a woman' is such a great pop song. I realized something a bit back....I think Barrie was aping George Benson's cover of 'affirmation' for the melody in the verses. Kinda makes sense too. I'd assume G Benson's Breezin would have been in their ears.
