there were a couple of decent pieces here and there, but on a whole it was corny and not that memorable.
now if Prince had Eric Leeds and you bring in a Marcus Miller on Bass, bring a Lee Ritnor on Guitar, Joe Sample on Keys and the Tower of Power Brass Section or the Barry White Love unlimited Orchestra to play behind it then he might be on to something.
but Madhouse is only for Purple heads. its Stacy Kech Funk lite. Mike Hammer grooves.
this is the kind of thing that is Kenny G territory and Kenny G does it better. Prince sounded like a dude with alot of money trying to create some buzz and he didn't have the goods.
Prince is a Hybrid cat not a puriest and he hits a wall when he tries so hard at nailing one thing per se.IMo
Rick James could have made a Better attempt at a Jazz record Why you jiving easily than Prince and you can hear things with him and ROy Ayers and his Brass section which lend itself to that theory IMO. mistermaxxx R.Kelly, Michael Jackson,Stevie wonder,Rick James,Marvin Gaye,El Debarge, Barry WHite Lionel RIchie,Isleys EWF,Lady T.,Kid creole and coconuts, the crusaders,kc sunshine band, bee gees,jW,sd,NE,JB
