The upcoming Chaka Khan vs. Stephanie Mills Verzuz is set for Thursday, November 18 at 5 p.m. PST/8 p.m. ET.


Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills are the latest music icons that will battle it out in an upcoming Verzuz match.

The latest edition will take on a holiday theme, it’s slated to be hosted in Los Angeles at The Theatre at Ace Hotel. The official Verzuz Instagram account shared the evening will be titled, “A night for the Queens.”

This news arrives as Verzuz announces a December 2 event featuring Three 6 Mafia and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. This square off will also take place in Los Angeles.


The newest announcement brings back memories of the beloved matches between Gladys Knight/Patti LaBelle and Erykah Badu/Jill Scott. Both of these evenings were enjoyable and featured an air of sisterhood, stories were told of past success and also emotional moments were even shared.

Apparently, the Chaka Khan and Stephanie Mills Verzuz has been in the cards for a bit of time. During an interview with The Breakfast Club back in June, she shared her team had tried to reach out to Timbaland and Swizz Beatz about setting it up alongside Khan.

Mills said: “I think we tried. George, who’s Chaka’s manager and my manager reached out to them but they weren’t interested.” At another point during the interview, her manager spoke up and added that both teams were in fact working on making the battle come to life. To this she said during the interview, “Oh now they want to do it. Fuck ‘em. I don’t want to do it,” she joked.


We’re expecting to hear iconic tracks like “I’m Every Woman,” “Ain’t Nobody” and “Through The Fire” from Chaka Khan who has been shelling out hits for thirty years. We’d be remiss to not mention “Sweet Thing” as well.

As for Stephanie Mills, she’s been a staple in the music market as well throughout her career. “I Feel Good All Over,” “Feel The Fire” and her remarkable rendition of “Home” from The Wiz will hopefully make it to the Verzuz.
