Jakob Fugger was probably richer than all of these present goofballs grinding children's thumbs to dust in order to suck the world hollow, and he was so scared of God that he built a town where poor people could live for (almost) free as long as they promised to pray for his soul in purgatory three times daily. It's still a requirement.
He was a monster who helped create the exploitative hellscape that grips not only our lives but, judging from this grim thread, our imaginations too. But at least he knew what he was.
